Meet Britain's ONLY professional figurehead carver in my new YouTube series 🧜♂️
The first video is here...
After swinging through your inboxes with a teaser last week, I’m happy to share that the first video from my new YouTube series is out!
📢 *celebration horn noises* 📢
I’ve been working on this series for a few months, but I’ve been fantasizing about doing this series for several years. I’ve always thought it would be cool to make videos that feel a little bit like a travel show, but focus on amazing artist-makers and/or cool cultural institutions.
Object (that’s the name of the series) will explore unique stories about artists, heritage makers, endangered crafts, unusual collections, and more as a way of revealing more about our wider world and the beautiful objects that surround us all of the time. I’ll be visiting folks, learning, and having fun while doing it!
If you enjoy the video, please spread the word (and if you really love it, subscribe)! At the moment, this is an independent project that I’m producing myself, so when you share the video it does a lot to make future episodes possible.
Hope you love it 🙌🏾
Before I go, I want to quickly share that I was just named one of Apollo Magazine’s 40 Under 40 in the ‘Thinkers’ category. The magazine release a new list every year with a different theme, and this year’s theme is craft. There are brilliant people on this list—including the extremely talented Anya Paintsil and Phoebe Collings-James who were in the Within + Without exhibition last year—so please do go check it out. I’m honoured to be included.
