Hey, hey. I’m back. I’m just stopping through your inbox to share a few things and then I’ll be on my way.
Tom (my husband) and I recently welcomed the kind folks over at The Modern House to our flat to take pictures and have a chat. If you don’t already follow their Instagram, I highly recommend it to anyone who’s interested in interior design and architecture. Please have a look at our house, if you’re into that sort of thing.
(On a related note, a few people have asked about our rug – it’s from Benisouk.)
Women’s Work is out!
My second book, Women’s Work, is finally out in all countries! Thank you ✨very✨ much to everyone who has purchased a copy. Thanks, especially, to those folks who have posted about the book and told others about it – that’s a hugely helpful way to support my work!
If I can, I’d like to ask that those of you who have gotten a copy to pleeeease leave me a review on Goodreads and/or Amazon – it helps to get the word out about the book and can hopefully give folks an extra nudge to check it out for themselves.
If you still don’t have the book and you want it, it’s available online with the usual book retailers – here are links to Amazon and Bookshop.
Stuff that’s coming up…
I have a few events (some online and some in person) coming up and I’m officially inviting you now. I’ll give you a minute to get out your calendar… Okay.
28 July, 5 pm BST – I’m going to be doing an online talk for DACS with the artists Lindsey Mendick and Paloma Proudfoot. They work in mediums relating to my Women’s Work book, so I’ll talk a little about that and ask a lot of questions about their wonderful practices. Details here
7 August to 5 September – One of my quilts will be exhibited at the Imagine: Celebrating Black Female Creativity show at the Featherstone Center for the Arts in Martha’s Vineyard. (The quilt will be for sale btw.) Get more info here (scroll to about halfway down the page)
9 August, 7:30 BST – I’m going to do an online talk about one of my favourite topics: the relationship between art and pop culture with The Garden. They’re a very cool site that offers talks by experts on a wide range of fascinating subjects. Details on my talk here
20 August, 6:15 pm BST – I will be in person at the Edinburgh International Book Festival discussing women artists and my new book. I’ll also be signing books! Details here
17 September, 12 pm BST – I will be in person at Goodwood Revival chatting with folks about Women’s Work and signing copies. Come by to say hi!
I hope to see you at something! There will be a couple more things to share with you soon. Until next time, my dears…
